Environmental injustice is the new civil rights issues that pledges the poor and people of color. Mustafa Santiago Ali a former senior adviser and assistant associate administrator for environmental justice, has served more than two decades at the agency, working to ease the burden of air and water pollution in hundreds of poor, minority communities nationwide. Ali recently resigned that position amid the White House plans to dismantle the program. He said that the budget proposal to defund such work will harm the people who has most relied on the EPA.
