Emporia State University is a regional institution with an emphasis on teaching. The SLIM culture is based on a collegial cooperative approach to developing and delivering the curriculum. SLIM core courses are taught by full-time faculty; many elective courses are taught by practitioners who serve on the SLIM national adjunct faculty. Over two-thirds of SLIM courses are taught in weekend-intensive classes supplemented by online instruction via Canvas and Zoom and/or other web conferencing applications; the remaining elective courses are all taught online.
