I have been with the Housing Authority for 7 years. I am with the Resident Services Department which is the Human Services division of the Authority. I work primarily with the education programming for youth who live in our public housing communities. We serve 16 public housing communities. We host afterschool and summer camp programs at 6 neighborhood community centers and one off site center. We serve 259 students per school year free of charge. We promote homework assistance, life skills such as the importance of credit, employment as well as education along with exposure opportunities whenever possible. We have strong partnerships throughout the neighborhoods that are sprinkled around the city of Durham. Our Resident Services mission is move in, Move UP and MOVE OUT successfully!
